Here's a sad tail of woe. Actually, if it wasn't so expensive, it would be funny.

A few nights ago I was imaging with my 8" Edge with the reducer attached. In watching the images come up on SGP, I noticed the I was only getting an image of half the screen. So, I quit for the night and brought all inside. I removed the imaging train and took everything apart thinking that maybe the EFW was stuck or something. I removed the reducer and started across my den with it heading for my shop. As I walked across my den, the whole thing fell out of the reducer case onto the carpet. Another ten feet and I would have been over hardwood. Obviously the retaining ring unscrewed and all of the spacers and lenses fell out. You would think I would have noticed that it was loose, but for some reason, I didn't.

So in the fall and subsequent landing, one of the lenses must have hit another one and chipped it. It's a very small chip in the center of the lens but might be noticeable in my images.

Getting this thing back together has been interesting. There are four lenses, three spacers and a retaining ring. Celestron doesn't service anything on the inside of the reducer, but never the less, provided a rough diagram and a lot of moral support (and grins) Actually, they have been great in trying to help.

So here's my question: Does anyone have an 8" .7 reducer that maybe has a broken outer lens, case or similar that I could salvage the interior lenses from? I know it's a long shot, but just thought I would ask.
