Classic Unitron 152 100mm f/15 achromatic doublet refractor, mount, and accessories for sale.

The mount is complete with equatorial head; 17.55 lb counterweight; wood tripod with accessory tray; declination slow motion and dec lock rods; 2.4" r.a. slow motion control knobs; and engraved and filled r.a. and dec setting circles with verniers.

The 100mm aperture 1500mm focal length optical tube has a 10 x 42mm straight-though crosshair finder; rack and pinion focuser; 0.965" optical accessories including star diagonal, .965" image erecting prism and a 1.25" image erector that fits in the focuser drawtube, 6mm ortho eyepiece, 7mm symmetrical achromatic eyepiece, 9mm symmetrical achromatic eyepiece, 12.5mm Huygens eyepiece, 18mm Huygens eyepiece, 25mm Huygens eyepiece, barlow lens with a neat cursive engraved "Pats Pending", sun projection screen, solar aperture diaphragm, two dark red sun filters that slip onto the eyepiece eyelens, dewcap, and dustcap.

Other accessories include a 60mm aperture 700mm focal length photoguide telescope with mounting rings, 0.965" diagonal, and a 9mm symmetrical achromatic crosshair eyepiece (78x); piggyback camera mount; vibration suppression pads; and the original wood cases for scope, mount, and tripod legs.

The scope had been set up for many years as a mascot in our showroom and storefront display window. One of our employees owned it for a time in the '90s and had all the optical tubes (scope, finder, and photoguide scope) brass plated. The thin brass plating was not sealed, however, and is starting to show some deterioration in spots. The optics and mechanics are in good shape.

Overall, the scope is very complete and we judge it to be in better than fair condition, considering its age. While it can be set up and used as it is, it would be a great restoration project for the classic scope collector.

As far as shipping goes this particular instrument is pick-up only. We are afraid that the boxes the EQ head, tripod legs and OTA come in, as they are original wooden crates, will not make a shipping trip no matter how well they are packed.
