Arthur Jackson Observatory

This is the build record for a backyard Observatory.
It was named after the Monty Python character since the observatory was built at the same time as a shed for my wife 😀 (do a search online for 'Arthur "2 sheds" Jackson'), we were quickly running out of space for our gardening tools and she's the gardener in the family. We lovingly call them the He-Shed and She-shed.
The objective was to make an observatory that looked just like a small shed so the roof opening system needed to be contained inside. Since I am a retired mechanical engineer.. how hard could that be??

When it came to the pier.. I've never done anything like this before so many thanks to Cloudy Nights and everyone who contributes for having such a great forum and to "Speedster" for his inputs in the forums, for his excellent "Telescope Piers" reference book and his advice as I worked with him to design the custom equatorial pier for the mount.
