B&W image of the Phantom Galaxy or M 74. It is at a distance of about 32 million light-years away from Earth. The galaxy contains two clearly defined spiral arms making it a archetypal galaxy. Though it is a relatively large object in the sky as compared to other similarly distant galaxies it is very dim with an apparent magnitude of 10.0. Thus 'The Phantom'.
