F/6 104mm Newtonian on CG-2 mount with RA drive motor. Mount, spider and fiberglass shell custom made for student design/machine shop project
Can be unmounted to look around the sky by hand - Great for Orion Nebula, M31 and M33 and scanning around the sky.
Primary imaging OTA from 1999 to 2015. OTA still in use for wider field imaging. Custom fiberglass tube (alot of flexure) replaced with a more rigid sch40 5-inch pipe
Did equivalent of 'hypertune' on CG-2 to get smoother operation out of RA drive and DEC manual worm set. Eventually replaced the original drive gear and worm from cut in.
Mount lasted until 2010. Mount replaced with used Celestron G-9 mount with digital setting circles.
