This varient to capture M77 2018ivc is 40+ pounds (OTA-side) on AVX mount. Used for setup 10 months on variety of targets. Probably should not have worked, but it did.
Setup:
C9.25 + Nexguide guider + 80mm guiding refractor with prism + top mounted Vixen bar & OTA rings + Olympus EM-5 Full Spectrum with remote bulb + Sky-Sync + 3 counterweights + OTA mounted dew heater + dew shield /w build in heater + feather touch micro-focuser + ADM dual saddle + wires everywhere.
Performance:
Better than unguided imaging. Cars driving nearby and walking around mount would cause visible vibration on bright stars in the camera viewscreen. Extremely sensitive to any breeze. Had to leave neutrally balanced to have any reasonable tracking. Good/Bad star streaking ratio was 1/10 to 1/20 taken for 60 and 120 second images after using PEC. Without PEC Good/Bad was 1/30 or 0/any.
Could not compensate for image shift from primary mirror movement and flexure between guide scope and SCT so would try to get mirror to settle for 10 minutes in position before taking images. Required constant checking and adjustment to operate correctly.
Improvement and inspection:
Unloaded setup and improved acquisition by using OAG and moving to dedicated CMOS Imagers. No damage to gears or motors. Added TPI spreader to reduce mount resonance and stopped extending tripod legs except to level mount.
