My setup for taking all the photos in this gallery. Most frequently, the lens is zoomed out to 140mm (as in this photo), and shutter speeds are generally 1.0 second at that focal length. Shorter focal lengths might allow 2-3 second exposures. I set the self-timer to take 9 consecutive frames (the highest this camera will go), switch to live view (which locks up the mirror), and press the button. It waits 5 seconds before the first frame and 2 seconds between frames, to allow vibrations to settle down. (I don't have a remote control.)
"Dithering" is automatic by way of having to slightly reposition the camera every couple of frame sets
You're welcome! Are you at the stage of just a camera and tripod? If so, I will say that more can be done than what you see in this little gallery. I had very little idea of what I was doing in those days (maybe 3 years ago).
