I changed angle iron piece attached to 2x8 from 1.5x1.5 to 3x2. This allowed for larger face-side attachment on 2x8 and I could increase clearance from the complementary angle iron piece (1.5 x1.5). Pic is of south wall but same procedure was done on north side as well. Interlocking rails are A36 steel (require corrosion protection) so were painted with two coats of rustoleum ‘aluminum’ color protective finish. Also can see foamular board insulation which I had begun to install.
