Taken just a few hours after the maximum phase of the December 2021 full moon using a TPO 6" Newtonian and a Baader MPCC coma corrector. Image capture done with SharpCap Pro and a QHY5III-178C camera. This four-panel mosaic was created using Microsoft's Image Composite Editor (ICE) after processing in AutoStakkert! (best 20% of 4000 frames for each panel) and Registax (wavelet sharpening). Final tweaks and photo frame done in Photoshop 2021.
The most common name for the December full moon is the "Cold Moon" (for obvious reasons).
