until about 6 months ago I didn't know about advantage/necessity of 16 bit color depth for faint DSO - I was doing it all in 8 bit ALTHOUGH I usually captured at least 2 sets on my favorite original nebula M42, one for low light areas = longer exposure & more gain -and- one set for the bright areas using quicker exposure less gain - and then I re-worked them in GIMP which is a 16 bit editor and they got pretty good! But I never really got this "glow" you have!
