Cat's Eye Nebula

Cat's Eye Nebula

Decided to use the remainder of the night to revisit Caldwell 6, the Cat's Eye Nebula once M51 moved out of favorable positioning. The outer shell did not show up in my previous picture, except for the brightest part, which is catalogued as IC 4677. SkySafari simply describes IC 4677 as a planetary nebula, so I was unaware that it was part of the same planetary nebula. This is only 1h 50m, so I had to resample it in post to increase the SNR, but I will definitely be spending more time on this target in the coming weeks to see if I can get more of that outer shell. It's green, so I'm betting an O3 filter would probably work pretty well on this one. Also got a bonus galaxy (NGC 6552) at 390,000,000ly toward the left of the frame.
