M33

M33

This is a big, dim galaxy which filled most of the field. It showed a hint of spiral structure, especially the northern arm. This arm extended from the nucleus to the bright H II region, NGC 604. NGC604 is bright and easy, near the tip of the spiral arm. NGC 604 seemed like a small oval nebulas. Other bright knots and condensation were visible in this arm probably IC 142 and IC 143. The southern arm is also clear, but it is very difficult to identify individual H II regions. The galaxy core shows a bright nucleus. I notice at least two bright areas slightly off centre almost stellar in appearance. I assume these would be the emission nebulas NGC-595, NGC-592, and NGC-588.

That is a STUNNING sketch! I can't wait to see M33 with the C8 when the dark nights return in August.
That is a very good representation of how M33 appeared when I viewed it with a 10" Newtonian a couple of years ago.
    Thanks!
