Really good, although collimation may be off a little. VERY good for just starting with a SCT.. what size?
Thanks! I haven't even collimated this thing yet. Ordering some Bob's knobs and trying to watch every video out there to make sure I know how to do it.
It's a C6-A-XLT
If I was "starting over" that would be my scope of choice- especially since I rarely ever have "good seeing" here in L. A. coastal suberb.
In (whats left of) my mind I've simplified collimation for a (thoroughly acclimated) SCT down to 3 words "Chase the fat" I turn whatever screw/knob is necessary to make the bulging side of an "out of focus" object (usually a star, planets moon or small planet - or artificial star) move (or "run" across my laptop screen) in the same direction as the bulge - then I reposition the scope to get it back into the center (of the screen) and make a mental note of how much less bulge there is - and if it's 1/2 as bad as it was I turn the same screw/knob about the same amount .. re-center it and repeat if necessary .. ad nauseam
and I really learned it from here
