C/2022 E3 ZTF (5 minutes)

C/2022 E3 ZTF (5 minutes) taken from a bortle 3.5 location (no moon, no filters) with the Vespera telescope.
5 minutes total integration time. 30 ten-second subs at gain of 25 db.
the time was chosen since the Vespera only tracks the stars and the auto-stacked TIFF output would show an elongation of the comet for longer exposures.
Even at 5 minutes, you can see a slight elongation of the core but the ion trail is showing up quite well for this darker site as compared to more light-polluted sites previously tried.
The image was post-processed with the following workflow.
Load the single TIFF output from the Vespera image in Affinity Photo and do the tone-mapping for a quick stretch.
Separate the stars from the comet in different layers.
Do some curves and level adjustments on the comet layer.
Run the comet layer through Topaz anti-noise.
Combine the stars layer.
One last levels adjustment to darken the background a bit more.
Export as jpg.
