Imagina-sun July 25, 2011

Thanks to Mark Townley and the other CNers discussing the use of flats, I have produced the most evenly illuminated full-disk mosaic of the Sun (for me) yet. The flat itself was a defocused central portion of the solar disk. Orion ED100/900, Coronado SM90-90/BF30, custom 0.7 focal reducer, cooled PGR Chameleon. Captured in FireCapture, 2.8 ms exposures for 20 secs. Stacked and processed in RegiStax 6, best 25 frames of 360, additional processing in PSP7. Four images combined using iMerge. 25.07.2011 @ ~ 01:32 UTC. Seeing 5/10, transparency 9/10, winds from the west @ 2-5 kph, temp. 28C:
