Eastern Arc of the Veil Nebula

Eastern Arc of the Veil Nebula

This is a full 35mm frame. Whereas digital will capture many different colors on this object all I could ever get with film was red. There has been no real editing on this image and it sorely needs it. Also note the oblong stars in the bottom half or so of the frame. Could be a sign of field rotation but I always did careful drift alignment so it's unlikely. Imager: Olympus OM-1, Elite Chrome 200 film pushed one stop, scanned at 4,032 x 2,688 per frame (10.8 MP) Scope: Meade MTS-SN6 6-inch f/5 Schmidt-Newtonian Exposure: single, 30 minutes Guider: manually guided with Lumicon 2-inch Newtonian Easy-Guider Date: Aug 8, 2002 Location: 14km north of Mount Forest, Ontario, Canada
