48-minute time-lapse animation of main belt asteroids (41) Daphne and (1369) Ostanina as imaged through an Orion ST-80 telescope with ZWO ASI482MC camera.
North is up. East is left.
(41) Daphne’s measured V magnitude this session was 12.7, and (1369) Ostanina’s was 15.3. The Minor Planet Center predicted 13.0 for (41) Daphne and 15.2 for (1369) Ostanina.
(41) Daphne was moving at 0.27 “/min (15.97 “/hr or 0.11°/day) towards 233.4°. (1369) Ostanina was moving at 0.19 “/min (11.24 “/hr or 0.075°/day) towards 207.7°.
Original plan was to capture 1.5-2.0 hours of imaging data. Session was cut short, however, because of deteriorating seeing and clouds. Data captured after 05:36 UT was discarded as unusable. Just enough imaging data here to show asteroid movement. Active galaxy, Markarian 937, is also visible in the field of view, measured at V magnitude 15.5.
