Heat and Soul Passenger

Heat and Soul Passenger

Heart and Soul nebula taken with the Passenger telescope in CovalENS mosaic mode using the Vaonis dual-band filter from a bortle 3.5 location.
2.6 hours of integration time according to the jpg header in the file saved by the Passenger telescope.
There was quite a bit of overhead so the human time for the collection was around 4 hours.
The collection was started just after complete darkness and stopped just as the moon started to peek above the horizon.
What you see here was post-processed with steps in Siril, Affinity Photo including using both the StarXtermintor and Topaz anti-noise plugins.
There was a significant gradient in the image which I aggressively used background extraction to remove as mush as I could.
The gradient may have been caused by a car driving past and shining headlights on my rig and the automatic frame-rejection by Vaonis not removing those blown-out frames.
I only worked from the stacked but not stretched TIFF file so I was at the mercy of whatever the automatic algorithms decided to keep in the stack.
