Above is an image of the gibbous moon that was taken on August 14, 2024 using a Nikon Z8 and a NIKKOR Z 180-600mm zoom lens. To improve the quality I did a 1.5X drizzle in AutoStakkert! using 256 of 325 still frames that were captured during a burst sequence by the Z8. From this drizzled output I did a downward resize to produce a 1600 x 1600 pixel image and the final reproduction shown below is equivalent to having used a 760mm lens (up from the 600mm that was actually used, a 1.27X enlargement from the original capture).
Processing was with PixInsight, AutoStakkert!, Registax, and Photoshop.
