NGC 346 is a young open cluster of stars with associated nebula located 210,000 light-years away in the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) that appears in the southern constellation of Tucana. NGC 346 is a star-forming region about 200 light-years across with the smallest of the its infant stars only half the mass of our Sun.
