Solar Corona Composite Image, April 8 2024

This image is comprised of 4 subexposures of varying length, processed and then stacked in Photoshop using HDR toning. Exposure times were:

• 100us (base layer)
• 20us (2nd layer)
• 10us (3rd layer)
• 1us (4th/top layer showing prominences)

All data was calibrated using dark, flat, and bias frames.

Taken at a focal length of 287mm and a pixel scale of 1.72"/pixel with the following equipment:

• Astro Tech AT60ED 60mm F/6 doublet with 0.8x reducer
• Homemade full aperture filter using Thousand Oaks Solar Film
• Baader UV/IR cut filter (kinda useless with the solar film in place)
• ZWO ASI183MC Pro

Taken from my backyard in Texas during the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse.
