Attach the rubber mounts. NOTE!!!: I can't stress this enough - do not overtighten the mounts. the mirror should be able to spin in it's carriage easily. The rule of thumb I've read is you should have enough space for a playing card between the mirror and the mount. I tighten until the mount kisses the mirror, then back off a 1/4 turn
If you overtighten the mounts, you risk distorting the mirror. It sounds a bit far fetched that you can bend the mirror, but speaking from experience, it is very easy to get distorted optics from over tightening the mounts.
