Six Image Moon Mosaic

Six Image Moon Mosaic

Six Image Moon Mosaic Ryan Turner This image was captured on Nov. 10. It is a matrix of the six images needed to get the whole thing in the FOV of the scope. Each image was 1/15 of a second at ISO 100 with a Canon 20D on the back of our 8" f/14.1 Alvan Clark refractor. The images ("Large" JPEGs) were stitched with Canon's PhotoStitch and processed in Photoshop CS2. The blue channel has been eliminated to kill the chromatic aberation and the other channels have been mixed in monochrome. The full resolution version is 5720x4778 pixels and has a LOT more detail but it's also about 80 megs which I think is a tad over the limits in the forum guidelines.
