My trusty companion, Polarex 4" Refractor at our clubs dark sky site s/w of Sydney.
Is that a heater ontop the front lens ( to avoid dew ? ) ...
Yes, homemade heater on the lens hood, then it's covered with rubber mat that has been painted black on the extension past the original lenshood. The rest of the scope, ( finderscope both ends and main eyepiece all have a heater.) everything is passed through a fused switch box and run with a 12 volt battery. John
