Trifid and Lagoon Montage

This is a montage of these three Messier jewels, created from two images. These two photographs were single 30 minute exposures on Fuji 400F Provia slide film. The photos where captured with a stock Meade LXD75 8" Schmidt Newtonian using an Olympus OM-1 and hand guided with an Orion 910mm focal length guide scope. Enjoy!

    30 second exposures??? or did you mean 30 minutes???
    OOPS! Thanks for catching that! Of course these where 30 MINUTE exposures!

    stunning.. absolutely stunning!! Now I'm sure most CN'ers own the HST! ;)
    I think the camera is not a big deal...the guiding is..as well as the polar alignment, drive accuracy and a dark site. Great picture...you are really an astist..
    Beautiful pinpoint stars. Super job!!!
    great imaging Clownfish,and thank you for showing everyone they dont really need all that fancy digital stuff to catch these images. You are truely a master.
