Fully restored now. Beautiful scope and wonderfully engineered, needed quite a bit of work, but very complete. Base is cast aluminum, tube is phenolyk impregnated fiber. Pic doesn't show it, but I added some black "Wilcox Rings". Slight tweeking needing to be done. Still haven't had first light..

Very, very nice Jay, I have a similar Edmund model, their 6" f6. Bought secondhand but in excellent condition complete with Edmund barlow and 3 RKE eyepieces. I just couldn't resist that mount! Great engineering! I'm surprised that they don't feature more in these forums.
I always wanted that scope. I heard they were pretty heavy. But then wasn't everything make back in those days!
I just bought mine on craigslist. Excellent condition for $20. Cant wait to clean it up and play with it. Beautiful scope.
