Maybe one day, when we're able to travel freely again, you can plan a trip to the Southern Hemisphere and see it. You can make out its basic structure (the "<" shape in this image) with the naked eye. But a view of the entirety of the Carina arm of the Milky Way alone is worth the trip. Just bring some good 10×50s!
