orion test Tamron 80-200mm zoom lens

orion test Tamron 80-200mm zoom lens

I recently acquired a Tamron Adaptall 80-200 f/2.8 lens and had a chance to test it on my astromodified Canon 450 xsi last night. Lens set to f/4 at 800 iso. Unguided tracking using iOptron Skytracker. Stacked 60 lights of 1 min exposures of the Orion Nebula last night with 25 darks, 25 flats and 20 bias frames for corrections in DSS. Used curve stretch, micro contrast and Star Tool plug-ins with PE12 in post processing. Neat Image applied for noise reduction. This is the uncropped widefield. Orion is slowly moving out of my backyard imaging capabilities for the season. These big old Tamron lens are known for their sharpness and decent control over CA.
