Mike, I'm very happy with the Atlas. It's a combo that's relatively easy to transport. The mount does the job very well, although I wouldn't mind a heavier one. The scope is not to heavy with its 16 Kg, but the long tube could pose a problem photographically with long poses. Well, the schief is not made for that kind of use anyway. So It's a trade-off between portability and extreme stability at an exorbitant price-tag. A trade-off I'm very happy with. Even though it is an early Atlas (no GoTo) I would recommend it to anyone with a similar scope. -philip
