This was taken on 35mm slide film with a 300mm telephoto lens. The lens was not an ED model, hence shows a considerable amount of chromatic aberration, particularly the blue halos around the brighter stars. There are techniques that can be used in post processing to supress the halos but they have not been applied here. Quite a lot of detail is visible in the nebulosity nevertheless.
