Dumbbell Nebula (M27)

This is an approximate 50% crop from the original image. For some reason, back in my 35mm film days something went wrong every time I tried to take a photo of this object. With a DSLR I finally managed to get it. Not a stellar effort (pun intended) but passable. Note that this "casual" image used no flats, darks or bias frames. However, I did use LENR and dithered (manually!) between every subexposure. (Note: The background level here is darker than I normally make it because I intentionally clipped the blacks a bit to remove some low-level noise.)

_Imager: Pentax K-3II DSLR. _Scope: Meade LXD55 SN6 6-inch f/5 Schmidt-Newtonian OTA on a Vixen GP-DX with SkySensor 2000PC. _Exposure: 8 minutes (16 x 30s) @ ISO 1600. _Guider: Unguided. _Date: Sept 15, 2018. _Location: Near Bayfield, Ontario, Canada. _Sky Conditions: Bortle ~2.5, average transparency.
