The Rosette Nebula

The Rosette Nebula

The Rosette Nebula is a large spherical region (circular in appearance) located near one end of a giant molecular cloud in the Monoceros region of the Milky Way Galaxy. The Rosette Nebula, when photographed, is the only way to record the red color which is not seen visually.

--- The technical stuff ---
The above images were captured by an Orion 80mm ED Refractor mounted on a SkyWatcher AZ-EQ5 GT equatorial, and my Nikon D3100 DSLR. The camera was set at ISO 1600 and mutiple(20+) one minute images of each object are captured and then stacked in DeepSkyStacker and enhanced in GIMP.
