woah, uranus. Its amazing. Its blue and you can make out its tiny ice moons! Brilliant work.
I wana see em with my meade etx 80 like that, all i got was a blue dot the size of a moon lol, tiny... =/
I love to see Uranus and Neptune in the scope. Jupiter and Saturn are great, but there is something mysterious about the two outer giants. Everybody and his brother can see or has seen Jupiter and Saturn, but when I see Uranus and/or Neptune, knowing you are seeing the end of the "planetary" solar system, it truly gives you a sense of the size of the world around you.
A job well done! Giving us the chance to see our outer planets here on this forum! Thanks.
The blue of the icy methane really grabs at you. Great photo! And the moons opposition to one another, really a great shot!
Great shot. I agree with gary with the moons opposition to each other and an idea of the tilted axis. This is how jupiter looked for me through my first department store scope!
You Gotta love those Meade 12" optics. I have yet
to hear of complaints of image quality.
8/10/14/and 16" scopes seem to pop up with bad optics!
But even Dynamax put out the DX6 6" I have looked through 6 of them including 2 that were B&L 6", I have one that is as sharp as my NexStar 6se, just not nearly as good of coatings.
My 12" LX200 Classic was one I had to have, the guy didn't want to sell it, BUT after offering an 8 inch 200 and a beat up C11, he traded me..
That one is never going anywhere.
I agree with you on the mysteries of the 2 outer giants.. great shot! thanks for sharing.
Nice work!
Looks great, thanks for sharing.
Outstanding! I've been able to make out a disk and see the blue with my Meade 8" SCT but this is a great image. Thanks for sharing.
