M042 - First light with Hyperstar and ZWO ASI294MC Pro
Here's my first crack at deep sky imaging, using the ZWO ASI294MC Pro cooled to -10 C and mounted on a Hyperstar adaptor. Date was March 3, 2019. Had such a blast with this set up just messing around trying to get it all to work. This image comprises 63 one second exposures collected using Smartcap, stacked and tweaked a bit in Deepsky Stacker. Shot on the alt-azimuth mount, so no autoguiding. No calibration frames, as I hadn't quite figured out how to do it (still haven't really). Pretty much right out of the box. As I said, a great night; so much fun. However, the next day, as I was processing things and mucking about with the data, got the sobering realization that I haven't the foggiest notion as to where to go next. A long trip ahead, I reckon.
