Starless image of M20

Starless image of M20

StarNet++ – used to remove all the stars from you image. It produces some very artistic results and I have just started playing with it. Get StarNet++ here. This software is a bit tricky due to the fact that it does not have a easy to use interface. It uses the batch file technology of windows versions of an earlier time period. That being said when you download the software read the readme.txt file. As an example if you have an image file you called M42 Orion Nebula.tif or M42 Orion Nebula.tiff ( it must be a tif or tiff file). Most likely this file you would have created via your imaging software e.g. GIMP, StarTools, Photoshop, etc. Now just copy your file into the directory where you installed StarNet++ and after it’s copied there rename your file as input.tif. Now look below at the other files and double click the one called run_rgb_starnet.bat. It will run and remove all the stars from you copied over file that you named input.tif. The output file is called starless.tif. You can then take that file and move it out to another place of your choice.
