Cat's Eye Nebula (NGC 6543)

The Cat's Eye Nebula is a Planetary Nebula in the constellation Draco discovered by William Herschel on Feb 15, 1786. The final phase of a sun-like star, the bright central region is surrounded by a faint halo of gaseous material some three light years across, the outermost portions of which are believed to have been shed 50,000 to 90,000 years ago.
