Split roof observatory closed (in construction)

View from east side showing split roof panel overlap. The rear panel (south) is the steeper slope (shorter) segment since ‘split’ is off-centered by design. The south split roof segment moves fully to end of south wall on ‘sliders’ (36” extend to 72”). The north split roof segment (uses same 36” 500-lb sliders) is a foot longer (and lower slope) and roof stops at foot inside north wall (but clearance adequate for view of Polaris from pier for polar alignment). Still need to get roofing shingles and siding/trim installed. Door and fold-down window panel (south view) are not started yet. I hope to finish exterior by mid-June if weather cooperates.
