Just purchased this eyepiece and wondering if it is GSO or other manufacturer. The barrel only specifies "Taiwan". Can anyone confirm as GSO?

Thanks

It is. I had one some ten to fifteen years ago, before they sold variations with the “GSO” emblem stamped on the side. Looked exactly like that.

Looks like the Explore Scientific 70 deg that used to be the Bresser line.

High Point Scientific also makes a SuperView eyepiece that looks similar to this eyepiece. I think the barrel may be different without an undercut. It's a popular mass produced product under many different brand names.

GSO (Guan Shen Optical) is in Taiwan and is the company that actually manufacturers the Superview eyepiece line.

The also make Dobs, imaging Newtonians, and R-Cs .

Yes it is GSO.  I have a 30mm two inch, and a 40mm 1.25 projection eyepiece.  For my SCT, they are twp of my favorites.

I have the 30mm and 50mm. They are 5 element Erfles, best suited to long FL scopes. Good light transmission and eye relief, very easy to use. DSOs are where they do well.

Thanks everybody for the feedback.

Glad to hear it works well on DSO's, that's my intended use, primarily at F10 in my C11. I also just bought the GSO 2" ED barlow, it came today and it's a beauty. So, now I have a 50mm Parks Kellner, 40mm Antares erfle and the 30mm Superview.

With the GSO barlow will have 6 effective focal lengths; 50, 40, 30, 25, 20, 15. Looking forward to sweeping through Cygnus with this setup.
