Hmmm. I wonder if this was the one at 2006 NEAF? The one that was there last year was going for $2500 firm (if I remember right), but I can't remember if it was an alt-az or equatorial. Is $4500 'good' for this scope? I just don't know.

One needs to ask if that includes the solar screens, the rod and attachment stalks for that rod too. You should at least get that, and then the rest is how badly you want it.

Look how just a beautiful Unihex went for $377 today on eBay. What matters is what YOU want. Like Bonco said, he missed an opportunity for a nice one for $2,800. There was also one that sold on ebay for $9,000+ a time ago but I thought I read that that one was the observatory Model 166 with the weight drive and observatory pier.

I paid a good price for mine too and added many other items to it, to in essence, upgrade it to a Model 155 Photo-Equatorial which included the 60mm x 700mm guide scope a Model 220a Astro camera, electric clock drive, Unihex, star diagonal, image erector, sunscreens, Unibalance assembly ( a home made exact reproduction )... and the list goes on. BUT I may hang onto that til I die cuz it's so beautiful (stately) to look at and to use too! :graduate:

Hey Lennie,

When Are you going to invite me over to see that upgraded Unitron? Even owning an AP refractor I find I still have Unitron envy !

Hey Lenny,

I couldn't find a picture of your Unitron on your webpage. Do you have one to post here?

Talkin about my new minty unihex for $377 :foreheadslap: gota stay off E-bay it like a drug. The one in Australia ended early for $450 ouch it was the one I wanted. But I did get my 152 for $1400 and am going to sink a grand into new chrome and pro painting. It has every little part you can think of and is Circa 1962 All parts are Unitron so when im done it should ROCK AND ROLL and be worth right around one million dollars!!! :yay:

Also speaking of Unihexs Unitron had one in there old inventory the wanted $425 no eyepieces. If you really want to shock yourself go to Parks website and find the price for a new 60mm alt az PRV 2 I found one on craigs list locale for $20 in mint cond. On there site I think they wanted $575 so go figure. In my 1969 Unitron catalog a complete 152 4" $785 A unihex was $24 extra. The 160 Complete $1175 this came with all the stuff Lenny is putting together. Except a weight clock drive comes with it. then for another $105 you get it all on a killer pier and the Super unihex 2" eyepiece 11/4" eyepiece and four little dudes. So times this all by 10 and thats what it is worth with inflation. A complete 152 as new with all the dodads somone would pay (mint mind you) maybe $7k They buy 130 tak TOAs every day for that.
