Yahoo!...... I finally got me a Selsi 247. This will replace the one I foolishly sold back in 1974. My old one was an 80mmx910mm. My "new" one is an 80mmx1200mm. It looks to be complete except for a manual and in nearly new condition. I only had to pay $79.50 plus shipping. Now if they don't smash everything up with the counterweight I'll be good to go! Seems like everything will be packed tight in it's original foam padding...unlike DaBears' unfortunate fiasco with UPS! I'll be getting this thing shipped UPS the box(cardboard) will probably be delivered broken in half like the Titanic, for only $37.00! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed... maybe I should insure it just to be safe. Mike

Congratulations Mike on your "new" scope. I have a Selsi 247 80mm, 910mmFL and it's a great performer...

Congrats Mikey, I watched that one all the way through. I have the exact scope under the Miyugi Koden name, I say exact because the scope, mount and tripod legs look identical although the Koden came in the wooden box. This run was made by Towa. Here's the good news....it will have a great objective and it will most likely be in a collimateable cell. I'd bet on it. It's a sturdy EQ3 mount too.
Nice scopes and the Selsi looks to be in fantastic shape. Enjoy! BTW...this one will take the 1.25" focal back as discussed in earlier posts. The Koden came with one.

Congrats Mikey, looks like you beat me. I was the lead bidder until you. Enjoy your 'scope. You gotta show us some pics when you get it!

Gene....I hate it when you bid against another CN'er. But you really sometimes never know. Thanks anyway..it takes character to wish a competitor good. Appreciate it. But God only knows I've been burned also. I get over it and there are always endless fish to fry out there on E-bay! ;) ;) Mike

Mike ,
Good luck with your new scope,One of the last finely made telescopes from Japan before the plastic started showing up.
