Hi,

Can I have some advice on usage and cleaning of Schmidt camera? I am new to Schmidt camera.

Don't clean it!

Don't mess with the collimation!

Practice with old film before trying it in the dark.

Take the entire thing inside to change the film in total darkness if this will not result in dewing.

Get dew protection for the corrector plate.

Have fun!

I own one of the lowest serial # "Celstron Pacific" units, that was later re-manufactured. It works great, but, with the advent of CCD I've not used it much.

You should see if www.robertreeves.com is still on the web. He had lots of information using the 8" model. I never tried one myself.
