And On to #2 completly constructed and reconstructed 10" Zeiss / Pons Refractor This scope is to incredible to describe you would have to see it. John built 90% of the parts out of billet aluminum and the drive is the most awsome thing I have ever seen. $250k on one pier is a lot to describe!!!The hands down most incredible view of jupiter I have seen to date. There was a moon in transit I swear you could make out detail on the moon! :roflmao:

Holy flying cows of Kashmir!

When I get the RV finished, I need to stop in Van Nuys on my way to Pinos!

Don't laugh guys, the Glassthrower will drop by one day....might take a couple of years, but it'll happen. :)

Regards and clear skies,

"Holy flying cows of Kashmir"?

If that's the best you can come up with, you're slipping. :roflmao:

I've read about John Pons somewhere, green with envy. Never could understand, though, why someone who owned amazing big scopes like that would live in a city in California...

Of course, you do have something there that we haven't had for weeks -- a clear sky. :p

Definitely jealous, Clint, but glad you got the opportunity.

Hi everyone, I live in Long Beach and if star parties like the one Clint just described come up in the future, I would love to attend. I don`t mind driving to the valley. Just let me know. Dan
