Was looking at the Carton Optical website. Seems like they still make 'scopes.

It seems the only refractor they make is a 60/800mm Alt-Az.

I have seen the 8mm Plossl on eBay before.

Galakuma,
Glad I could help. The link you posted has some interesting 'scopes. Unfortunately, it seems they won't or can't ship to the USA.

Hi, mare_balticum.
Your 3" have Alt-Az or equatorial?
I have Alt-Az mount telescope like your's.
But written "Kenko" on plate.
This 3" is not Carton original model. But,I like.

Hi Galakuma!

> Your 3" have Alt-Az or equatorial?

I've bought mine without any accessories, only the OTA with caps. The tube is like new an there are no screwholes or parts on it that identify a missing alt/az-mount. I can't see any marks of a tubering - so I don't know whether the scope was ever mounted or not.

I know that the "RET-3" was imported to Germany under various labels, but this "Carton" was the first I've ever seen (and there's no circle-T or so on it).
For you as an expert a question: How old are our little newtons, any idea?

Hi mare_balticum.
I think your telescope is around 40 years old.
I have Carton's pamphlet "1969.
There is not finder on your carton same as mine.
I think before 1969. and I think your carton complete model had an equatorial mounts like a right photograph.

Hi Galakuma!

Thanks a lot for this information! :jump:

> There is not finder on your carton same as mine.

Yes, but I think that on my scope a little "peepsight" is missing: Have a look at the two little plates on the tube - there are screws coming from inside out and there must be something attached on these bolts in the past - but what?!

Here's a closer view on the focuser - one of these plates at the pic's upper edge...

mare_balticum.
My Kenko's have two little plates on the tube, same as your Carton.
This plate is to install small metal fittings for finder.
I don't have this.

Photo is my Kenko, and Carton small reflecting telescope(D=45mm Fl=500mm)
