Here is my 6SE with Celestron Focuser, FR, RACI, WiFi, ASI224MC, ASIAIR Pro and mounted iPad.  Waiting on my Hyperstar C6 to arrive, but its going to be along wait as the lead time is extended to a couple months at least.

Love this.

But where do I get the cradle from to hold the HC like you've got...?

Farpoint sells a hand cradle on the online store. It's about $50.

You can find 3D printed ones on Thingiverse. Just download the STL files and print it up. If you don't have a 3D printer, just go to Treatstock.com and they will print one up for you after you upload the files.

i made a drawing of what i wonted and had a local welding shop put it together. the pier is a 4" inner dia,  steal pipe with a cut out at the top. the top is sealed off with a 3/8 inch hole for mounting. the base has levelers on each corner. i took the legs off the tripod and mounted the mounting plate on top of the pier. it works out great, im going to leave the mount out side on the patio with a 365 cover i purchased from opt make for a meade 125 scope. the shower cap is to keep the virus from reaching the moon or other planets to keep from infecting  the live there, ha, ha. stargazer3236, i will take a photo of the top of the mount and pier and put it on this post. don

My 8SE waiting to go outside. I mounted the battery pack on the fork arm so I never have a problem with wrapped cords. I just finished mounting a 3D printed handset holder.

My telescope arrived today.  It's a Celestron 60th anniversary NexStar Evolution 8 HD with StarSense.  And of course we have 100% cloud cover tonight and tomorrow, but Saturday and Sunday should be clear!

Hi All!

Here is my new 60th anniversary Evo Edge HD 8.  Got it yesterday and after some hiccups, it has been giving great views!  Unfortunate it seems I got a defective tripod from the factory as the threads for one of the wingnuts in the legs is too big to let the nut thread and tighten the leg.  Warranty here we coming frown.gif.  Also the 2" diagonal was hitting the base while aligning, but moving the tube forward in the mount seems to have solved that.

I looked around the sky for about 3 hours last night and got some great views.  Saturn was amazing!  Jupiter was looking good too.   Mars was too close to the horizon to get good viewing unfortunately, and just looked like a bright blob.  The full moon and living close to Phoenix ruled out almost all DSOs, but I did look at M13, and while to didn't blow me away, it was cool to see, and show that the goto was working.

Thanks and Clear skies!

Congrats!  Sorry to hear about your mount troubles, but glad you are enjoying it!  What number did you get?  I've got #138 and a friend got #507.  There is a Facebook group for Anniversary Edition owners if you are in to that sort of thing:

I got #445. It came in from Astronomics last Friday, and I’ve used it basically everyday since. The first night was frustrating with the tripod issues, and then the diagonal hitting the base, but since then it’s been such a great time. I remember searching for hours as a kid looking for planets and DSOs, but being mostly unsuccessful since my scope was a cheap Tasco 4” reflector. In the last 3 nights, I’ve seen more of the night’s sky then in months of looking back then. Im so happy I went with the goto mount and especially Starsense. It’s just so easy and worth it. Watched a moon transitioning across Jupiter on Sunday for more than an hour and was just blown away. So happy and excited.

Just got my Evolution 9.25 today, have had a play in the daytime to get used to it and running through starport, bad news, was clear in the day, now cloudy.

Took my starsense off my skywatcher goto dob, and the red dot finders I hate and the one supplied is cheap, so ordered the 9×50 right angle optical finder as red dot finders no good in light pollutioned skies

You can't do that with an ALT/AZ they said. You will get field rotation they said. Wrong I said... My Evolution 9.25" all dressed up in her dew apparel, 2x focal extender, ADC, and ASI224MC. Power source for laptop and dew heater and a few drinks for a night out on the field. The sound of frogs croaking, Coyotes in the background, an owl from time to time, and steady skies.  Ah, life is good.

Amazing results!  Those must be fairly high in the sky for you in Florida.  I'm near Seattle and they barely break 20' apparent altitude so I always have lots of atmospheric disturbance.
