I have watched your YT vids. Bravo! You demonstrate what can be done at the lower end of the mount range.

It's a mesh stone bag.  Holds the battery and weighs down the tripod.

Found it on Amazon, https://www.amazon.c...product_details

I own the same, and it is very useful. Good quality too… CAN$22!

Her home...

Nice case setup. Did the pelican case come with all the foam? Modular foam or did you have to cut? I am getting a Nexstar 8SE and travel so I need a case. Do you know the weight of case itself?

This is my Nexstar 130 slt. I have added tube rings($35). a 13" dovetail ($20), and an Orion auto acufocuser ($80). Stability and tube shake have been greatly reduced I use it for viewing and astrophotograhy

I REALLY like this mount! It coud be very useful for public events.

Are you plannoing on selling it, or else: do you know what the model is?

Edit: Found the model: it's a JMI Heavy Duty Large Size Universal Wheeley Bar. I would love to get one!

I’m sorry for not being clear.  I do like the wheeled trolley.  It’s the computerized mount that is messed up.  The electronics have some issues that I may or may not be able to fix.  I want to dabble in photography (I know this is difficult with this scope) so I may buy an equitorial mount if I can hide it from my wife.

Ok, this is a Celestron AVX with EdgeHD 800 and I guess not formally a NexStar mount - but I am going to post it all the same! :-)

There is a Pegasus Pocket Powerbox Advance gen 2 for power management with a Raspberry Pie 4 in an Argon Neo case running INDIGO Sky attached to a wooden board clamped to the Losmandy bar of the EdgeHD.

Particularly proud of the DIY dolly to roll it from the apartment out on the balcony and back again; inspired by this article in BBC at Night Magazine.

I attached the 12V power adapter to a round rod and stuck it inside the hole of the AVX mount, keeps the cables in place. For cable management I put all cables in a cable sheet bought off amazon.

The QHD 5III585C camera is attached for planetary imaging; so far nothing to show. :-)

There is also the Celestron Focuser, Power Tank and the Dew Heater ring.

Trying to get rid of that pesky cable from the hand control to the RPI, but that requires a HBG3. Waiting (and hoping) for the next batch of PCB, got all the necessary components waiting.

I have a 114GT just like Starwars. Added a wifi module today and I am still working out how to make this work. Anyone have any advice. I hate to see a mint piece of equipment gather dust and I hope with some simple upgrades I can use it more.

I don’t have that scope but did have the WiFi module prior to getting the evolution mount with it built in. Can you be more specific with the issue maybe we can help

Most of the "GT" products use an older design that is not compatible with anything other than the hand-controller they originally shipped with.  No WiFi, no GPS, no nothing..

If it is a newer (2013+) version, then it may have the newer electronics of a Nexstar 4/5SE inside instead, in which case a WiFi adapter could be usable.  The way to tell, is the (working) hand-controller will say "Nexstar+" on it (with the plus-sign).

Hi,

Here's my 102GT with a more stable mount.  I also modified an old Tasco auto focuser that works great, even when vertical.

Cheers, Clark in Madison AL

Hi Again Folks,

I got bored and modified the base holding the GT mount with some metal engravings.  I also made the mount independent from the tripod.  Here are a few photos and a link to the updated photo album.  Cheers, Clark in Madison, AL
