My astro. club will be acquiring from the former Flower and Cook observatory of the University of Philidelphia these two scopes; 28.5 inch Fecker classical Cassegrain telescope, 15 inch siderostat Brasher and Fecker refractor. Can anyone provide any experiences with these two insturments or knowledge about them.

Don't know about the scopes but it sounds like your club is very fortunate! :waytogo:

Briefly, the observatory is in the process of being dismantled. The instruments are being donated to Florida Community College at Jacksonville. My understanding is that your club will be heavily associated with the project, but actual ownership will most likely remain with FCCJ. I have just written a short article on the subject. It will be published this week in the Journal of the Antique Telescope Society - you can order a copy of the issue in a few weeks at www.oldscope.org . If you have specific questions, you can email me off-forum.
