hi...

i'm considering a purchase of a 6" f/15 doublet from Astromart. The lens came "from the inventory of Cheshire Instruments", which was brass telescope maker in the 1980s I guess.

I would buy the lens (and accompanying 4" flat mirrors) to put together a folded OTA.

Any idea of what I might expect from this objective, in terms of quality? I assume better than Synta lenses...and am hoping something more akin to D&G quality...but I really have no idea.

I posted this in the "refractors" section as well.

thanks
jeff
