Just a "heads-up" that there is now a new section of the Mallincam
website (www.mallincam.tripod.com/) called "WHAT'S COMING UP".
Click on it and you can see my HYPER COLOR PLUS camera with the
wireless mod and Rock has supplied some really exciting info on the new
Mallincam upgrades!

I'll be taking the setup to the Winter Star Party. Anyone planning to
be there is welcome to come and see the new system and "take it for a
spin"!

I didn't realize that Rock was also offering INCREASED GAIN as part of
the upgrade...
I'll be really interested to see what even more sensitivity does for
the 28"...it was already a mind-blowing exprience!
I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas!!!

Wow, lots of new stuff in that upgrade!

I'm particularly interested in the "New Front Forward CCD Mount allows Newtonian telescopes to focus better without modifying most Dobsonian telescope."

I'm wondering if this means that all us current MCHP users can recover some of our "back/in focus" distance by having this part of the modification done???

THAT would be awesome and might resolve my "quest for a 2" flip mirror" issues!

Mike, since you're "beta testing" this new update: do you have the "Front Forward" part of the modification/upgrade that you are testing? And if so, do you know how much additional backfocus is recovered?

Clear enough skies!

Yes, mine WILL have the "front forward CCD". And we WILL recover some back-focus. At this point, though, I don't know how much. That'll be one of the first things I'll test when the camera arrives!

well this is VERY good news... I wonder (hope! pray!) that I can recover enough back focus to be able to use my Slider!!!

Now I have something else new to want and be miserably impatient about! Arghhh!

Clear enough skies!
