Hey does anyone have any info on a telescope that Celestron made in the 80s. It's an 80mm apochromatic. (I think it is a celestron because it mentioned that on one eyepiece that was found with the telescope.) Other than that there is no marks on the tube, or anywhere. The Lens cell states that it is a fluorite apochromat.
Anyone heard of these..? I have an option of scooping this up for something like 400$ and want to check if its a good idea..

Celestron, at one time, did import some premium telescopes made by Vixen. Can you post a photo?

If it's the Celestron/Vixen model the price is very good. The current Vixen unit goes for about $1500 new. You might compare this one to the pictures of the Vixen FL80S to see if it's the one.
