I just picked this up yesterday. It's one of their special series (volume 14 number 4). It contains 12 interesting articles describing current theories of star formation, development, and death. Well worth reading.

Cool! Or maybe that should be Hot!
I'll have to look for a copy. Had a perscription to SA once, but let it lapse... just too many magazines to read.

A friend of mine lent me a copy of The Secret Life OF Stars. I found it to be very informative. It is also well written in typical Scientific American style. It is a must for anyone interested in stellar dynamics and evolution.

Most of the articles are updates from articles previously published in the regular Scientific American. This gives a bit of perspective, as the authors comment on new findings over the past few years. Also, these guys are professional astronomers, at the leading edge in their fields, yet they write in an understandable way.
Reading this, I'm just amazed at the explosion of knowledge in astronomy in just the last 10 years.
